THE GUILDFORD SOCIETY

The 2008 Festival of Architecture is being organised by the Guildford Society jointly with RIBA SE, The Guildford Photographic Society and the Guildford House Gallery.

The theme for 2008 is "Art in Architecture" and a public exhibition will be open in the Brewhouse from Saturday June 14th through to Saturday  21st June, along with a series of talks and walks. It will lead into the Guildford Festival.

In 2007 the Theme was "Different Perspectives" which was interpreted locally as "Guildford from the River Wey", you can take a virtual tour of the "Guildford from the River Wey Exhibition" and the talk on the History of the Wey and the Navigation here:

In 2006 the Theme was "The Power of Ten" to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Architecture week. This was interpreted locally as the ten Architects who have had the most impact upon Guildford, five past masters and five contemporary architects.
